Be a Granville Ambassador - Volunteers Needed for Welcome Center

A Welcome Center, which will provide business, food, and lodging information for residents and visitors, will be opening soon in the Granville Village Offices. The new Welcome Center needs volunteer "Ambassadors", who will assist visitors by answering questions and handling requests for information.  Granville Ambassadors may be the first contact point for visitors to our community, so the Center is looking for friendly residents who want to ensure that our guests are greeted with a Granville smile and hospitality.

Volunteers will be asked to donate two to three hours at least once a month. Training will be provided.

Anyone interested in the Granville Ambassador program should contact Mollie Prasher, Village Clerk of Council, at 587-0707; or fill out the Ambassador application form. Additional information is provided on the Employment Opportunities page on this website.

Please sign up today to join us in providing a warm welcome to our Granville visitors.

ODOT Cuts Ribbon for New Highway

Did You Know? Left Turns into Parking Spaces are Prohibited in the Downtown Business District

For safety reasons, particularly because of traffic congestion and the lack of visibility when vehicles are trying to back from angled parking spaces, motor vehicles are prohibited from making left turns for the purpose of parking on the opposite side of the street in the downtown business district.

Many of us are guilty of this minor misdemeanor offense, but few of us know that it is against the law.  Signs are posted at the mid street crosswalk on East Broadway.  So the next time you are in the Village and spot available parking on the other side of the street, please do not be tempted.  Making that left turn is illegal.  So now you know.

The diagram below shows examples of the types of turns that are prohibited in the downtown business district:

Effective this morning, the Ohio Department of Transportation has made changes to the traffic patterns on Route 161/37 in the construction areas related to the widening project. Water Service to be Interrupted (May 4)

On Tuesday morning (May 4), water service will be interrupted to residences on the south side of West Broadway from Mulberry Street to Cherry Street. The affected area also includes the 100 block of North Mulberry, Monomoy Place, and Stone Hall on the Denison campus.

The water will be shut off beginning around 8:00 a.m. and will be off for several hours in order to complete necessary system improvements. Water service will be restored immediately after the necessary repairs to a water main on North Mulberry Street have been completed.

After water service is restored, we recommend that you let the water run for a few minutes to flush your lines.
