The Ohio Department of Transportation cut the ribbon signifying the completion of the State Route 161/37 Widening Project during Grand Opening ceremonies held earlier today. Attendees at the ceremonies included Don Holycross, Village Manager; Alison Terry, Village Planner; Jim Mason, Police Chief; Shawn Wilson, Police Officer; Maggie Barno, Executive Director of the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce; Fred Abraham, Granville Township Trustee; Bill Mason, Granville Township Trustee; and Dan VanNess, Granville Township Trustee.
The two-phase project, which had a total cost estimated at $170.7 million, expanded and relocated two lanes of congested roadway and created a new four-lane, 13-mile highway that connects New Albany in Franklin County with Granville in Licking County.
