Public Hearing - Village Council - Wednesday, July 21

VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE - NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING   

At its regular meeting on June 16, 2010, the Granville Village Council scheduled a public hearing and request for public comment for July 21, 2010 at 7:30pm in the Granville Village Council Chambers, 141 East Broadway, for the following:

Ordinance No. 10-10, An Ordinance Accepting an Application for the Annexation to the Village of Certain Real Properties Located on Lancaster Road (South Main Street) Totaling 9.89 +/- Acres

On November 18, 2009, the Village Council authorized the Village Manager to enter into an annexation agreement to annex properties owned by Mill District, LLC and 191 Lancaster Road, LLC for the development of the Mill District Area. 

In accordance with the annexation agreements, Metropolitan Partners prepared an Expedited Type II Petition for the annexation of the Mill District properties, the Kiwanis properties, Village of Granville properties, a small parcel owned by Granville Township, and related rights-of-way along Lancaster Road and River Road.

That petition for annexation was approved by the Licking County Commissioners on April 15, 2010 and, following a mandatory 60-day waiting period, is ready for approval by the Village Council.

This ordinance would accept the annexation of the properties that were part of the petition filed with the Licking County Commissioners.

Legislation Adopted by Village Council on June 16

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the June 16, 2010 regular meeting:

a. Ordinance No. 08-2010, An Ordinance to Revise the Codified Ordinances by Adopting Current Replacement Pages

This ordinance codifies the annual update to the Village Codified Ordinances as prepared by Walter Drane Company, a legal publishing company.  The annual update includes those changes to the Village Code that have been adopted by the Council since the last update as well as statewide changes to the Ohio Revised Code that should be incorporated into our Village Code.

b. Ordinance No. 09-2010, An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 20-2009 to Provide for Adjustments to the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2010 and to Revise the Sums for Operating Expenses Related to Income Tax Refunds and Storm Sewer Contractual Services

This ordinance amends the 2010 annual budget to adjust the Income Tax account to appropriate $40,000 for additional income tax refunds.  A $10,000 amendment to contractual services for the Storm Sewer account is also included.  This appropriation provides funds to cover the cost of mapping the storm sewer outfalls into Raccoon Creek as required by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit program and to provide outfall information for installing filtration systems.  The mapping documented approximately seventy-five outfall locations within the Village limits.

Legislation Adopted by Village Council - May 19

PUBLIC NOTICE
VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE


The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the May 19, 2010 regular meeting:

Resolution No. 10-30, A Resolution to Authorize the Granville Studio of Visual Arts to Submit a Letter of Inquiry, on Behalf of the Village of Granville and the Bryn Du Commission, to the Ford Foundation for “Space for Change” Planning and Pre-Development Grants

This resolution authorizes the Granville Studio of Visual Arts, in partnership with the Bryn Du Commission and the Village of Granville, to  submit a letter of inquiry for up to $100,000 in potential grant funding through the Ford Foundation to plan the renovation of the former stables at Bryn Du into artist studio and performance space.  The proposed use of the stables is consistent with the Master Plan for the Bryn Du property.  There is no local funding match requirement for the grant.  The grant application can be submitted during the spring application cycle, which closes on May 28th; or during the fall application cycle, which closes on September 17th.
