RESOLUTION NO. 08-46

A RESOLUTION TO CLOSE THE REVIEW OF A DECISION BY THE GRANVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION TO APPROVE AN INTERNALLY ILLUMINATED WALL SIGN FOR CERTIFIED OIL AT 466 SOUTH MAIN STREET

WHEREAS, the Village Council, on November 5, 2008, adopted Resolution No. 08-44 to initiate a review of a decision by the Granville Planning Commission pursuant to Section 1133.03 of the Granville Code of Ordinances; and

WHEREAS, the Village Council, through the adoption of Resolution No. 08-44, initiated the review of a decision by the Planning Commission on October 27, 2008 to approve an internally-illuminated wall sign for the Certified Oil Company, 466 South Main Street, that was a part of Application No. 08-140; and

WHEREAS, the Village Council stated that its review would be limited to the approval of the internal illumination, which appeared to be contrary to the provisions of Section 1189.05 of the Granville Code of Ordinances; and

WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of Resolution No. 08-44, the Village received a letter from Certified Oil affirming that it will not internally illuminate the wall-mounted sign and will agree to make that a condition of the sign permit approval; and

WHEREAS, the issue for which the Village Council initiated the review has been satisfactorily resolved.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the Village Granville, Ohio, that:

Section 1. The review of a decision by the Granville Planning Commission to approve an internally illuminated wall sign for the Certified Oil Company, 466 South Main Street that was a part of Application No. 08-140 is hereby closed.  

Section 2: This resolution shall take effect and be in full force immediately upon passage.
