Resolution 02-28

 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO NEGOTIATIONS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
SPRING VALLEY COMPANY, INC. TO PURCHASE THE SPRING VALLEY
PROPERTY.



BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Granville, Ohio that:

Section 1:     The Village Manager should be, and he is
hereby, directed and authorized on behalf of the Village
of Granville, to review and carry out due diligence of the
Spring Valley property, and to enter into negotiations,
only in accordance with direction of Council, with Spring
Valley Company, Inc. for the purchase of the Spring Valley
property.  

Section 2:     Any purchase agreement with Spring Valley
Company, Inc. for the purchase of the Spring Valley
property shall be subject to approval of Council by
Ordinance.

Section 3:     Council shall appoint a task force to
review, evaluate, and consider uses, costs, and the
operation of the facility, should it become a part of the
Village.

Section 4:    This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage

Resolution 02-27

 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER

Resolution 02-26

 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT.


    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF GRANVILLE, OHIO,
that:


Section   I:    The Manager should be, and hereby is
authorized on behalf of the Village of Granville to
advertise for bids for the sale of the following surplus
equipment:  

        One (1) 1982 Camel 200 / 8” combination
jet/vacuum sewer cleaning machine and
        One (1) 1989 Wheelhorse model 724z zero
turn radius mower

Section  II:    This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage.

Resolution 02-25

 A RESOLUTION TO FILL A VACANCY ON THE BOARD OF ZONING AND
BUILDING APPEALS.

    WHEREAS, in accordance with Article VIII, Section
8.02 of the Granville Village Charter, the Council of
Granville, Ohio, did on March 3, 1965, establish a Board
of Zoning and Building Appeals and appointed three
electors thereto; and,

    WHEREAS, the electorate of the Village of
Granville adopted Ordinance No. 28-89, to modify said
Article VIII, Section 8.02 of the Granville Village
Charter, which increased the membership of the Board of
Zoning and Building Appeals from three to five members;
and,

    WHEREAS, Ashlin Caravana resigned her position on
the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals effective July
12, 2002.                        .

    
    NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of
Granville, Ohio, that:


Section   I:    Bill Heim  be and hereby is appointed to
the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals for an unexpired
term, said term ending January 31, 2004.

      BE IT FURTHER NOTED, that the Board of Zoning and
Building Appeals membership is as follows with terms as
indicated:

Resolution 02-24

 A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR ASHLIN CARAVANA

WHEREAS, Ashlin Caravana served as a member of the Board
of Zoning & Building Appeals for the Village of Granville
from January 31, 1992 to June 5, 2002; and

WHEREAS, In those 10+ years of service Ashlin gave
faithfully of her time, talents and resources to help
maintain a community standard that is apparent to both
residents and visitors of the community; and

WHEREAS, Ashlin’s understanding and knowledge of planning
principles, and sensitivity to the historic and
architectural value of this community has helped to
strengthen the ability of the Village to maintain the
qualities and values that all citizens of this Village
hold dear; and

WHEREAS, Ashlin’s expertise and experience have been an
invaluable asset to both the Board of Zoning and Building
Appeals and Village Staff in our attempt to maintain the
New England charm that Granville is known for and at the
same time enhancing the health, safety and general welfare
of the people that live and work within its boundaries.

 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:


Section I:    On behalf of the citizens of the Village
of Granville, Village Council and the Board of Zoning &
Building Appeals would like to extend our gratitude and
appreciation to Ashlin Caravana for all she has done to
enrich the lives of us all.

Section II:    This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage.
