Tree City USA
Granville has earned the distinction as a Tree City USA community for 19 years. To qualify for Tree City 
A Tree-Lined Neighborhood (Photo by k_myers@flickr.com, copyrighted) USA designation, a community must meet four standards that are established by The Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters:
- A tree board or department;
- A tree care ordinance;
- A community forestry program with an annual budget of a least $2.00 per capita;
- An Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
