Guests Present: none

Meeting started: 7:05 PM

Approval of Minutes: Minutes of 6/21/12 were approved unanimously.

Treasurer’s report: no update.

Old Business:

The new GAC business cards were distributed.

We discussed the website for GAC which was developed and sent to members by Thom Nelson. Thom still needs more photos of GAC-sponsored events for the website; Lois suggested and will request previous grant recipients to forward any photos they may have of GAC events.

In reviewing the website draft, members suggested more color contrast to make it more legible among other comments, all of which are captured on a marked up copy which will be forwarded by Kyle to Thom.

Jurgen briefly reported on his library contacts to display art there. The library director Charlie Hanson passed on the suggestion to their board which approved the idea and will follow up on it. Maggie offered to donate some rails for hanging in the library. Ultimately, the library could apply for grant money from GAC.

New Business:

Grant request # 12-06: The Granville Studio of Visual Arts (GSVA) applied for $500 to partially cover the cost of installing a mural developed by GSVA to be installed at Abe’s Body Shop.

Tom moved and Kyle seconded to approve grant # 12-06. The motion passed unanimously.

Discussions ensued covering potential art events which could be promoted and supported by GAC. These included the Bluesfest; hiring an artist to do a sculpture or other artistic project; even to eventually build up to recurring Chatauqua-like festival. We discussed the pros and cons of the $500 grant limitation.

Meetings: The next meeting is scheduled for September 5, 2012. Meetings are held at 7 PM upstairs in the village hall conference room.

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM.

Respectfully submitted: Jurgen Pape
