Meeting Started: 7:10pm
Approval of Minutes: Minutes of August 2, 2012 were read. Marilyn moved and Meg seconded to approve the minutes with corrections. The motion passed.
Treasurer's Report: Marilyn distributed a budget update. She will be contacting those who have not yet submitted invoices. Six grants have been approved, three are paid. Mickey moved and Maggie seconded to accept the budget report. The motion passed.
Old Business: Marilyn distributed a copy of the Grant History to be sent to Thomas for the website. Several recipients have indicated interest in submitting photos for the website. Kyle has a meeting scheduled with Thomas to give him the suggestions that were made at the last meeting.
Neal would like to discuss the idea for a "First Friday" event, possibly with artists on the street and stores staying open. A subcommittee was formed to include Neal as Chair, with Maggie, Mark and Jurgen.
Grant Request #12.07: The Granville Garden Club applied for $500.00 to cover the cost of supplies and materials for the annual Daffodil Show. Neal moved and Meg seconded to approve Grant #12.07. The motion passed unanimously.
Grant Request #12.08: The Bryn Du Commission applied for $500.00 to cover the cost of artist fees to perform at "Experience Granville" on Sept. 16. Meg moved and Kyle seconded to approve Grant #12.08. The motion passed unanimously.
Grant Request #12.09: Licking County Arts applied for $500.00 to cover an artist fee and costs for printing and printing set-up for location maps for galleries in Licking County. Neal moved and Jurgen seconded to defer the decision to the next meeting, until we can get clarification of the criteria for what galleries and spaces will be included on the map. The motion passed unanimously.
Grant Request #12.10: The Robbins Hunter Museum has acquired a pair of historic samplers, and have applied for $100.00 for a speaker, $250.00 for framing, and $100.00 for printing and publicity. An item on the application included $25.00 per hour for staff time along with promotional materials, and it was later clarified that no funds are requested to pay for staff time. Mark moved and Neal seconded to approve $350.00, which was amended and approved by e-mail to grant a total of $450.00 once it was determined that none of the grant money would be used for staff time. The motion passed unanimously.
Grant Request #12.11: The Granville Historical Society applied for $300.00 for costumes, and $200.00 for advertising and programs for a re-enactment of the 1836 Anti-Slavery Convention in Granville. Neal moved and Mickey seconded to approved $500.00 for costumes. The motion passed unanimously.
Announcements: Marilyn distributed the Denison University Theatre season flier.
Meetings: The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at 7pm in the Village Office. Another meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.
