ORDINANCE NO. 12-87
BYU: (UA- ') AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN APPLICATION FOR ANNEXATION
OF TERRITORY AND ESTABLISHING CERTAIN ZONING DISTRICTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF GRANVILLE, OHIO:
Section I: That the application of L. James Gordon and
others for the annexation of the following
described real estate in the County of Licking
and adjacent to the Village of Granville, to
Wit:
Situated in the State of Ohio, County of Licking
and :Township of Granville;
Being part of Lot 14 and Lot 15 of the 3rd Range,
1st Division of the survey made by the Licking
Land Company, Township 2, Range 13 of the United
States Military Lands and more particularly
bounded as follows:
Beginning at a point in the intersection of the
Village of Granville' s existing southerly
corporation line and the centerllne of State Route
37;
Thence, easterly, along the. said corporation line
and the entire northerly line of the Harold C.
Attebery property, (Deed Reference: Volume 563,
Page 359) and the entire northerly line of the
Village of Granville property, (Deed Reference:
Volume 230, Page 453),to a point;
Thence, southerly, along the entire easterly litie
of the said Village of Granville property, (Deed
Reference: Volume 230, Page 453),to a point;
Thence, westerly, along the centerline of Raccoon
Creek and the entire southerly line of the said
Village of Granville property and the entire
southerly line of the Granville Shopping Center,
Inc.,property, (Deed Reference: Volume 644, Page
498) crossing State Route 37 and the entire
southerly line of the Denison University property,
Deed Reference: Volume 545, Page 56),to a point;
Thence, northerly, along the centerline of Raccoon
Creek and the westerly line of the aforesaid
Denison University property and the southwesterly
line of the Dentson University property, (Deed
Referencd: Volume 194, Page 118),to a point at
the southeast corner of the John C. &Mary V.
Watson property, (Deed· Reference: Volume 562,
page 41);
Thence, northerly, leaving the centerllne of
Raccoon Creek, along the entire westerly line of
the Denison University property, (Deed Reference:
Volume 194, Page 118),to a point iii the existing
Village- of. Granville southerly corporation line ;
Thence, easterly, along the said corporation line
and the northerly 1lne of the aforesaid Denlson
University property· to the place of beginnilig.

The foregoing description was filed with the Board
of County Commissioners of Licking County, by
L. James Gordon, Agent, December 24, 1986.
An accurate map of which territory, together with
the petition of its annexation, and other papers
relating thereto, and a certified transcript of
the proceedings of the Licking County
Commissioners in relation thereto are on file with
the Clerk of Council of the said Village, be and
the same is hereby accepted.
That the property described in Section I, premises
conveyed to Harold C. Attebery (Deed Volume 563,
page 359),and; premises conveyed to Village of
Granville (Deed Volume 230, page 453),effective
upon annexation, be classified as Community
Service District.
That the property described in Section I, premises
conveyed to Granville Shopping Center, Inc.,D e(ed
Volume 644, page 498)., premises conveyed to
Denison University (Volume 194, page 118 and
Volume 545, page 56),and premises conveyed to
Certified Oil Corporation (Volume 42, page 849),
effective upon annexation, be classified as
Suburban Business District.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon the
earliest da e allowed by
