AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE LICKING RURAL ELECTRIFICATION,
INC.,OF UTICA, OHIO, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, THE RIGHT
TO USE THE STREETS, LANES, ALLEYS, SIDEWALKS AND OTHER
PUBLIC WAYS AND PLACES AND SUCH OTHER AREAS WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID VILLAGE AS MAY BE FROM TIME TO TIME
SERVED ANDO/R WITHIN THE SERVICE AREA OF SAID LICKING RURAL
ELECTRIFICATION, INC.,IN THE VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE, LICKING
COUNTY, OHIO, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATIONS OF AN ELECTRICAL LIGHTING AND POWER DISTRIBUTION
SYSTEM FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUPPLYING ELECTRICITY FOR POWER
AND LIGHT PURPOSES AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED.
WHEREAS, certain licenses to use the streets, avenues,
alleys, lanes, sidewalk and all other public grounds and places
must be granted to Licking Rural Electrification, Inc.,in order
to provide a power distribution system.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the
Village of Granville, county of Licking and state of Ohio, that:
Section I: Licking Rural Electrification, Inc.,an Ohio
Corporation, its successors and assigns, is
hereby granted the right and invested with the
privilege and authority to use the streets,
avenues, alleys, lanes, sidewalks, and all other
public grounds and places and such other areas
within the corporate limits of said Village as
may be from time to time served ando/r within the
service area of said Licking Rural
Electrification, Inc.,in the Village of
Granville, Licking County, Ohio, to erect,
maintain and use such poles, masts, towers, wires,
cables, lines, lamps, transformers and other
appliances as may be necessary for the transmission,
transformation, utilization and sale of
electrical energy, the operation and maintenance
of electrical circuits and the furnishing of
electric light, power and heat for the public and
private use within such other area within the
corporate limits of said Village as may be from
time to time served ando/r with the service area of said Licking Rurdl Electrification, Inc.,in
the Village of Granville, Licking County, Ohio.
Section II: All poles shall be set, insofar as in practical,
on or near the curb and property lines, all poles,
wires, and guy anchors shall be so located and
arranged as not to interfere with traffic, and
shall be erected in as sightly a manner as possible.
Section III: Licking Rural Electrification, Inc.,its
successors and assigns, shall hold the Village of Granville, Licking County, Ohio, harmless against damage for any and all injuries which may result from construction, operation or maintenance of said electrical distribution system, provided that the Licking Rural Electrification, Inc.,its
successors and assigns, shall forthwith, within
ten days from the filing of any such claims, or institution of any action, be notified in writing by the Village Council, or the Manager, and the said Licking Rural Electrification, Inc.,shall have the right and opportunity to conduct the

defense or negotiation for settlement of any and
all such claims, demands or actions.
Section IV: ' The rights, privileges and authority granted by
this Ordinance shall continue for a period of
twenty (20) years from the date of the passage of
this ordinance and its acceptance by the Company.
Section V: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
on and after its adoption or publication and the
filing by the aforesaid Licking Rural
Electrification, Inc.,with the Clerk of said
Village of its acceptance in writing of each and
all of the terms, provisions and requirements of
this Ordinance.
