Ordinance 19-00

 WHEREAS, an overwhelming majority of the residents of the 200 block of Summit St. and N. Plum from Broadway to College Streets have requested that their street be declared a Residential Permit Parking Zone, and

 WHEREAS, it has become apparent that the definition of Subsection (c ) needs to be clarified. 


Section I: That existing Ordinance No. 13-00 of the Village of Granville, Ohio be and hereby is amended to read as follows:

351.17 Residential Permit Parking Zone: (a) The following residential parking zones are hereby established during the months of August - May: (1) Thresher St., from W. Broadway to Burg St.; (2) W. College St. in the 400 and 500 blocks only (from N. Plum St. west to the end of the street); (3) Sheppard Place; (4) The municipally-owned parking lot located on Burg St just south of Thresher St. in any space so posted. (5) Summit St. from N. Pearl St. to N. Prospect St. (6) N. Plum St. from Broadway to College Street.

 (c ) Residents, property owners, or tenants within or adjacent to a Residential Permit Parking Zone may obtain permits from the police department to park their motor vehicles, and for their guests to park their motor vehicles, on streets within the Residential Permit Parking Zone. Excepted from those entitled to permits are Denison University students who reside in University dormitory facilities. The Manager shall issue rules and regulations governing the manner in which persons shall qualify for and receive parking permits.

Section III: This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the Municipality and its inhabitants. Wherefore, this ordinance shall be in full force and affect from and immediately upon passage.
