AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE THE CONVEYANCE OF UP TO 19.8 ACRES OF LAND TO THE TRUSTEES OF GRANVILLE TOWNSHIP
WHEREAS, the Village of Granville is acquiring certain land from the Longaberger Company, and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been made between Granville Township (Township) and the Village of Granville (Village) whereby the Township will purchase part of the land so acquired from the Village,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of Granville, Ohio, a majority of its elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. Council hereby approves, authorizes, and directs the conveyance of up to 19.8 acres of land to Granville Township, which is described as the 19.8 acres, more or less, of the front portion of the 32.24-acre tract to be acquired by the Village from the Longaberger Company, and as to be further described in a survey to be obtained by Granville Township, and as also described in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Township and the Village, which is attached hereto, incorporated herein and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. The sale price of the property shall be $430,000, and the sale shall be closed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Memorandum of Understanding which is made a part hereof. The conveyance of land approved herein is contingent upon the acquisition of the land by the Village. The land to be conveyed by this ordinance shall be maintained for the use and benefit of the general public.
Section 3. Council hereby authorizes and directs the Manager on behalf of the Village to execute the deed and other documents necessary to effectuate the conveyance referred to herein in accordance with this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date permitted by law.
