ORDINANCE NO. 12-2011 

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A UTILITY EASEMENTACROSS VILLAGE OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 118 SOUTH MAIN STREET TO THE OHIO POWER COMPANY, AN OHIO CORPORATION AND A UNIT OF AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER 

WHEREAS, The Granville Historical Society wishes to expand the Granville Historical Museum; and 

WHEREAS, such expansion necessitates the relocation of electric utilities serving the Granville Historical Society, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and the Village of Granville; and 

WHEREAS, the Ohio Power Company, an Ohio corporation and unit of American Electric Power wishes to perform said utility relocation, placing the facilities underground to provide for greater safety; and 

WHEREAS, the Village of Granville owns property located at 118 South Main Street where said utility relocation can be accomplished; and 

WHEREAS, Village Council wishes to grant an easement across said property to the Ohio Power Company, a unit of American Electric Power, in order to provide safe and secure electrical service to the Village and other users. 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Granville, that:

Section 1.  That the Village Council does hereby grant  a utility easement to the Ohio Power Company, a unit of American Electric Power, as described on the attached easement document attached hereto and made a part hereof. 

Section 2. That the Village Manager be and hereby is directed to execute said easement document on behalf of the Village of Granville.    

Section 3.  This ordinance shall become effective upon the earliest date allowed by the laws of the State of Ohio and the Charter of the Village of Granville.
