Notice of Public Hearing November 7, 2018

At its regular meeting on October 17, 2018, the Granville Village Council held over the public hearing until November 7, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Granville Village Council Chambers, 141 East Broadway, for the following:

Ordinance No. 17-2018, An Ordinance to Make Appropriations for Current Expenses and Other Expenditures of the Village of Granville, State of Ohio, During the Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2019

This ordinance, if approved, would establish the budget appropriations for Village operations and capital improvement projects for 2019.

Ordinance No. 18-2018, An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 15-2017 Providing for Adjustments of the Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 2018 and Revising Sums for Operating Expenses

This ordinance, if approved, would amend the 2018 budget to authorize the expenditure of $18,000 for the Granville Police Department to purchase a four-wheel drive ATV.

Ordinance No. 19-2018, An Ordinance Amending Section 331.34  of the Granville Codified Ordinances to Prohibit the Use of Hand-Held, Personal Communication Devices While Operating a Vehicle in the Village of Granville, Ohio  (Nathan’s Law)

This ordinance, if approved, would make it illegal to hold a cell phone of other personal communication device while driving a vehicle within Village limits.  This ordinance was requested by Kathy and Doug Richeson, who lost their son Nathan Richeson, in 2014 to a texting driver.  This law will be known at Nathan’s Law.

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
