Granville Township Pathway Survey Opened For Community Input
Township officials are asking residents of Granville to participate in a community survey on pathways and connectivity in the community. This survey is in response to a desire for more connectivity within the township. The survey asks questions about the adequacy of the existing pathway system, the need or desire for additional pathways, and whether those new pathways will be used. It will be used to prioritize pathway creation and assist in seeking outside funding. You can access the survey on the Township website:
The Village of Granville finalized a pathway plan in 2009 and many will remember completing a similar survey. However, the township wants to ensure that as parts of the township become more populated they are able to envision ways to connect with current pathway systems. Printed copies of the survey form may also be picked up at the Granville Public Library during normal business hours. The deadline for participating in the survey is Monday, October 26th.
The survey was developed through partnership with the Village of Granville, Granville Exempted Village Schools, and Granville Recreational District. The Path Plan Advisory Committee will use the results of the survey to help develop recommended strategies for the design, construction and implementation of potential future community path options. The Committee will be asked to assist in identifying funding sources for a feasibility, technical evaluation and construction plan of the route options. This work will allow the Township to establish a cost estimate to be used in the development of capital budget planning and to solicit grant funds in the event of future path development.
