Legislation Adopted November 7, 2018

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the November 7, 2018 regular meeting:

Ordinance No. 17-2018, An Ordinance to Make Appropriations for Current Expenses and Other Expenditures of the Village of Granville, State of Ohio, During the Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2019

This ordinance establishes the budget appropriations for Village operations and capital improvement projects for 2019. 

Ordinance No. 18-2018, An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 15-2017 Providing for Adjustments of the Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 2018 and Revising Sums for Operating Expenses

This ordinance amends the 2018 budget to authorize the expenditure of $18,000 for the Granville Police Department to purchase a four-wheel drive ATV.

Ordinance No. 19-2018, An Ordinance Amending Section 331.34 of the Granville Codified Ordinances to Prohibit the Use of Hand-Held, Personal Communication Devices While Operating a Vehicle in the Village of Granville, Ohio  (Nathan’s Law)

This ordinance makes it illegal to hold a cell phone of other personal communication device while driving a vehicle within Village limits.  This ordinance was requested by Kathy and Doug Richeson, who lost their son Nathan Richeson, in 2014 to a texting driver.  This law will be known at Nathan’s Law.

Resolution No. 2018-50, A Resolution to Appoint a Member to the Planning Commission

This resolution appoints Robert Rhodes to the Granville Planning Commission to fill the term of Bill Wilken, who resigned September, 2018.  Mr. Rhodes term is effective until January 31, 2020.   

Resolution No. 2018-51, A Resolution Authorizing and Directing the Manager of the Village of Granville, Ohio, to Enter into an Agreement with the Bryn Du Commission

This resolution renews the existing agreement between the Bryn Du Commission and the Village of Granville for the day-to-day management and operation of the Bryn Du facility for a two-year period. 

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
