At its regular meeting on December 5, 2018, the Granville Village Council held over the public hearing until December 19, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Granville Village Council Chambers, 141 East Broadway, for the following:
Ordinance No. 20-2018, An Ordinance to Authorize the Village Manager to Execute a Contract Providing for the Sale of Water to the Village of Alexandria
Since 1981, Granville has provided Alexandria potable water. This ordinance provides for the continued sale of water to Alexandria at a rate equal to 1.3 times the rate charged to Granville residents. The contract also clarifies when communication between the two Villages is required. Alexandria uses approximately 35,000 gallons of water per day, equal to about 6% of the Village’s water production. The contract would be renewed for a five-year period.
Ordinance No. 21-2018, An Ordinance to Authorize the Village Manager to Enter into a Lease Agreement with Readers’ Garden for the Lease of a Portion of Village Hall, 141 East Broadway
The ordinance renews the lease between the Village of Granville and Readers’ Garden. In 2000, the Village and the owners of Readers’ Garden entered into a five-year lease for retail space on the first floor of Village Hall. This lease was renewed for five years in 2005, 2012 and 2015. The proposed lease between Readers’ Garden and the Village of Granville will be a 36-month lease beginning January 1, 2019 and ending December 31, 2023. There were no changes to the terms of the lease.
Ordinance No. 22-2018, An Ordinance Adopting Permanent Zoning (Suburban Residential District – C) for 1586 Newark-Granville Road
This ordinance assigns the Suburban Residential District-C to the newly annexed Richards property at 1586 Newark-Granville Road. The Planning Commission reviewed the zoning options for this property and recommended that it be assigned Suburban Residential District-C zoning.
Ordinance No. 23-2018, An Ordinance Approving an Application for the Annexation to the Village of Granville of Certain Real Properties Located at 1536 Newark-Granville Road, Totaling 18.8+/- Acres and 0.039+/- Acres
S. R. Larson, Trustee of the S. R. Larson Ltd. Profit Sharing Plan Trust, is the owner of approximately 18.8 and 0.039 +/-acres of land located on the south side of Newark-Granville Road at 1536 Newark-Granville Road in Granville Township. He has requested annexation into the Village of Granville. S. R. Larson, Trustee of the S. R. Larson Ltd. Profit Sharing Plan Trust prepared an Expedited Type II petition for the annexation of these 18.8 acres and related right-of-way along Newark-Granville Road. The petition for annexation was approved by the Licking County Commissioners on and, following a mandatory 60-day waiting period, is ready for approval by the Village. The property is contiguous to the Village, which is a pre-requisite to annexation.
