Legislation Adopted January 17, 2018

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the January 17, 2018 regular meeting:

Resolution No. 2018-03, A Resolution of Establish the Annual Compensation Adjustment for Non-Bargaining Employees for Fiscal Year 2018

This resolution adjusts compensation for 2018 for Village non-bargaining employees in pay grades A-K, not covered by collective bargaining (union) agreements (non-police and non-public works individuals including department heads, clerical, and Village office staff). The resolution treats the non-bargaining employees like Village union employees by authorizing a 2% cost of living increase.  It also provides merit increases and/or bonus (union contracts have automatic step increases, not available for non-bargaining employees) to those employees who performed well as documented by an evaluation process.  The resolution also extends the 2% increase to part-time employees.

 Resolution No. 2018-04, A Resolution to (Re)Appoint a Member to the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals

This resolution reappoints Neal Zimmer to the BZBA.  His current term expires January 31, 2018.  The new term expires on January 31, 2021. 

 Resolution No. 2018-05, A Resolution to (Re)Appoint Members to the Granville Planning Commission

This resolution reappoints Jack Burriss, Tim Klingler and Craig Potaracke to the Granville Planning Commission.  Their current terms expire January 31, 2018.  The new terms expire January 31, 2021.  This resolution also appoints Councilmember Phil Demarest as the ex-officio Council representative and Jeremy Young as the ex-officio school board member to the Planning Commission through January 31, 2019. 

Resolution No. 2018-06, A Resolution to (Re)Appoint Members to the Granville Tree and Landscape Commission

This resolution reappoints Don Hostetter, Don Pheneger and Dick Mortenson to the Granville Tree and Landscape Commission.  Their current terms expire January 31, 2018.  Their new term expires January 31, 2024. 

Resolution No. 2018-07, A Resolution to Appoint Members to the Municipal Board of Tax Review in Accordance with the Provisions of the Ohio Revised Code Section 718.11

This resolution appoints Gynna Meurer, Brady Burt and Doug Plunkett to the Village Board of Tax Review.  The Village is required by state statute to have a three-member Board of Tax Review selected by the Mayor with Council’s approval.

Resolution No. 2018-08, A Resolution Authorizing the Village Manager to Prepare and Submit a Letter of Interest to the Ohio Department of Transportation for Funding Through the Transportation Alternative Program for the State Route 37/South Main Street Bridge Project on Behalf of the Village of Granville, Granville Township and Licking County Area Transportation Study (LCATS)

This resolution allows the Village Manager to submit a letter to request the opportunity to submit various enhancement projects for the rebuilding of the State Route 37/South Main Street bridge project to the ODOT Transportation Alternative Program for potential funding.

Resolution No. 2018-09, A Resolution to Appoint Members to the South Main Street/River Road/Weaver Drive

Task Force

This resolution appoints members (Dan Finkelman, Jeremy Johnson, Phil Demarest, Bill Wilken, Steve Pyles, Debi Walker Yost and Jonathan Miller) to the South Main Street/River Road/Weaver Drive task force.  This group is tasked with    ODOT Bridge design, pedestrian accommodations and design, and how River Road and Weaver Drive can be improved for better/safer traffic flow.  Aesthetic considerations for design to include enhancements on the face of the bridge as well as any landscaping plans.  The length of closure for the bridge as well as the traffic routes during construction among many other issues.

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
