Granville Community Calendar

Legislation Adopted January 16, 2019

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the January 16, 2019 regular meeting:

 Resolution No. 2019-02, A Resolution to (Re)Appoint a Member to the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals

This resolution reappoints Larry Burge to the BZBA.  His current term expires January 31, 2019.  The new term expires on January 31, 2022. 

 Resolution No. 2019-03, A Resolution to (Re)Appoint Members to the Granville Planning Commission

This resolution reappoints Jean Hoyt to the Granville Planning Commission.  Her current term expires January 31, 2019.  The new terms expire January 31, 2022.  This resolution also (re)appoints Councilmember Phil Demarest as the ex-officio Council representative and Jeremy Young as the ex-officio school board member to the Planning Commission through January 31, 2020. 

Resolution No. 2019-04, A Resolution to (Re)Appoint Members to the Granville Arts Commission

This legislation is the first term renewal for members of the Granville Arts Commission.  The terms of Bryn Du Commission representative Jurgen Pape, Denison University representative Laurie MacKenzie-Crane and Granville Area Chamber of Commerce representative Angela Katona expire on January 31, 2019.  Angela Katona resigned her position as she is no longer a Chamber member.  Additionally, Amanda Love resigned from the Granville Community Foundation several months ago and a replacement has yet to be appointed.  The Bryn Du Commission and Denison University elected to reappoint Jurgen Pape and Laurie MacKenzie-Crane, respectively.  The Granville Area Chamber of Commerce recommended Jeff Watkins be appointed as their representative to the Granville Arts Commission.  These members’ new terms will expire on January 31, 2022.  The Granville Community Foundation has also recommended Angela Katona be appointed to the Commission as their representative.  She will be fulfilling Amanda Love’s term, which expires January 31, 2020.

Resolution No. 2019-05, A Resolution to Authorize the Village Manager to Auction or Advertise for Bids the Sale of Surplus Equipment

This resolution would authorize the Village Manager to auction or to advertise for bids the sale of the following surplus equipment: 1991 Ford F-150 Pick-up Truck and a HP Designjet 1050cm Plus Plotter (a large map printer).

Resolution No. 2019-06, A Resolution Authorizing the Village Manager to Enter into a Contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the Reconstruction of the State Route 37/661 Bridge

As ODOT works through the finalization of the State Route 37/661 bridge reconstruction project, they have sent legislation that needs to be authorized by Village Council in order for this project to move forward. The legislation is a commitment by the Village to pay for the additional cost of the decorative railing on the bridge at a cost of $160,000.  

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
