The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the July 17, 2019 regular meeting:
Ordinance No. 12-2019, An Ordinance to Establish Chapter 1194 of the Codified Ordinance of the Village of Granville, Ohio Regarding Composting
This ordinance establishes a composting section to the Village Code. The ordinance sets limits on what may be composted, types of compost containers and the location of compost containers. There are also penalties for violations of the code and/or causing a nuisance due to composting.
Resolution No. 2019-31, A Resolution to Approve an Agreement with the Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation Program for Employees of the Village of Granville
IRS rules allow pretax contributions to pensions by governmental employees. These programs are called 457 deferred compensation pensions, which are public employees’ version of 401K programs. Other than minor bookkeeping, the cost to the employer is almost zero. The Village currently has a deferred compensation plan administered by Voya and ICMA to which two employees currently contribute. The Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation program offers a deferred compensation 457 program for all Village employees. In order for these funds to be set aside, a contract, approved by Council resolution, needs to be put in place.
Resolution No. 2019-32, A Resolution of Appreciation for Mollie Prasher
This resolution of appreciation for Clerk of Council/Administrative Assistant Mollie Prasher for serving for the twelve years, who is moving on to serve another municipality.
All legislation is available for review at the Village office during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village office is located at 141 East Broadway.
