PUBLIC NOTICE OF LEGISLATION - VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the May 18, 2011 regular meeting:

Ordinance No. 12-11, An Ordinance Granting a Utility Easement Across Village Owned Property Located at 118 South Main Street to the Ohio Power Company, An Ohio Corporation and a Unit of American Electric Power

This ordinance grants an easement to the Ohio Power Company, a unit of American Electric Power, to install and maintain power lines across Village owned property directly behind St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and Parish House.  This new power line would be located underground and would serve the church, Granville Historical Museum, Opera House Park and other Village uses and allow for the planned expansion of the Historical Museum.  The line would replace the overhead line that runs across the Park National Bank building. 

Resolution No. 11-29, A Resolution Expressing Support and Cooperation of Village Council to Participate in a Joint Study with Granville Township for a Joint Public Safety Complex

This resolution expresses Council’s interest in pursuing, jointly with the Granville Township Fire Department, and Granville Township Trustees, a study to investigate a public safety complex to house both the Granville Township Fire Department and the Village of Granville Police Department.  This resolution is intended to support the next phase of the study which looks at potential sites.  At the conclusion of the site study, Village staff and Chief Hussey will return to report to Council the findings.  The resolution also commits the Village to financial to complete a needs assessment of the police department up to $5,000. 

Resolution No. 11-30, A Resolution to Authorize the Non-Permanent Installation of a Sidewalk Café on the Public Sidewalk at 128 East Broadway in Front of the Business Known as Bella for Calendar Year 2011, Subject to Restrictions

This resolution authorizes a sidewalk café to be located in front of the Bella at 128 East Broadway.  The authorization permits the sidewalk cafe through October 31, 2011, but can be extended by staff for an additional period of time provided that the extension does not go beyond December 31, 2011.  A diagram has been attached to the resolution that shows where the café may be located, where sidewalk signage may be located, and where sidewalk access is to be maintained.    

Resolution No. 11-31, A Resolution to Authorize the Non-Permanent Installation of a Sidewalk Café on the Public Sidewalk at 134 East Broadway in Front of the Business Known as Day y Noche for Calendar Year 2011, Subject to Restrictions

This resolution authorizes a sidewalk café to be located in front of the Day y Noche at 134 East Broadway.  The authorization permits the sidewalk cafe through October 31, 2011, but can be extended by staff for an additional period of time provided that the extension does not go beyond December 31, 2011.   A diagram has been attached to the resolution that shows where the café may be located, where sidewalk signage may be located, and where sidewalk access is to be maintained.    

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
