Adopted Legislation - Village Council - Wednesday, November 3, 2010


The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the November 3, 2010 regular meeting:

Ordinance No. 19-10, An Ordinance to Permit the Demolition of a Single Story, Detached, One-Car Garage Structure Located at 335 West Elm Street

This ordinance authorizes the demolition of an existing single story, detached, one-car garage located at 335 West Elm Street.  The Planning Commission has reviewed the request for the demolition and recommended that it be approved.  The property owners also submitted an architectural review request to the Planning Commission for a new one-and-one-half story, two-car, detached garage to be constructed in the same location as the existing garage.  The Granville Historical Society has reviewed the building and has no objection to granting the demolition permit.  The property owner will be required to provide a surety bond in the amount of $3,500 to guarantee the removal of the structure.

Ordinance No. 20-10, An Ordinance to Amend Section 505.01 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Granville to Establish a Leash Law in the Downtown Area

This ordinance amends the Village Code, Section 505.01, to implement a leash law in the downtown area of the Village.  The ordinance requires all dogs entering upon any public or private property in the downtown Granville to be securely restrained by a leash and under full and complete control by a person of suitable age.  For the purposes of this law, downtown Granville is defined as:  properties on East Broadway from Main Street to Granger Street, properties on North Prospect Street from Broadway to College Street, properties on South Prospect Street from Broadway to Elm Street, and properties on Main Street from College Street to the TJ Evans Trail.

Resolution No. 10-45, A Resolution to Appoint Alison R. Terry as Acting Manager of the Village of Granville and Establish the Acting Village Manager’s Salary for 2010

This resolution appoints Alison Terry as the Acting Village Manager until December 31, 2010 with a compensation level of $75 per business day.

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
