The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the April 2, 2014 regular meeting:
Ordinance No. 03-2014, An Ordinance Granting Approval to Purchase the Development Rights for an Easement of 13.6 Acres of the Granville Golf Course Located at 555 Newark-Granville Road
This ordinance approves the purchase of the development rights to 13.6 acres of the Granville Golf Course. The Village has been working in conjunction with the Township on this issue for the past two years. Village Council and the Granville Township Trustees have deemed that the preservation of the Granville Golf Course is desirable and appropriate. The existing zoning regulations and restrictions are not sufficient to protect the property. Through coordination with the Township, a price for the development rights has been negotiated at an acceptable amount with those funds being available as part of the Village budget. The Village would obtain the ability to maintain the property in its current or natural state and have the right of first refusal to purchase the property in the future.
All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
