Legislation Adopted by Council January 4, 2012

PUBLIC NOTICE VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE 

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the January 4, 2012 regular meeting: 

Ordinance No. 40-11, An Ordinance to Authorize the Village Manager to Enter into a Lease Agreement with the Granville Studio of Visual Arts for the Lease of the Terrace House at Bryn Du, 537 Jones Road, for a Term of Three Years

This ordinance authorizes the Village Manager to enter into a lease agreement with the Granville Studio of Visual Arts (GSVA) for the lease of the Terrace House at Bryn Du for a second three year term.  The GSVA has renovated the Terrace House and uses the building as a gallery and for art-related classes.  The provisions of the lease were negotiated by representatives of the Bryn Du Commission and have been recommended to the Council by the Commission.

Resolution No. 12-01, A Resolution to Appoint members to the Municipal Records Commission in Accordance with the provision of the Ohio Revised Code Section 149.39 

This resolution appoints the current members of the Village’s Records Commission.  The Records Commission members, by statue, are to be the Village Manager or his designee, the Village’s Finance Director, the Village’s Law Director, and a representative from the Village.  The Commission has had turnover during the past several years and a resolution appointing the current members was not completed.  The Commission’s current members are:  Village Manager Designer & Commission Chair Mollie Prasher; Village Finance Director Carie Kraner; Village Law Director Mike Crites; and Village Representative Kay Bork.

Resolution No. 12-02, A Resolution to Permit the Demolition of a Wooden Garage at 102 Miller Avenue

This resolution authorizes the demolition of a wooden garage at 102 Miller Avenue.  This application was reviewed by the Village Manager and approved.  The Granville Historical Society has indicated that the garage has no historic value and there is no objection to the demolition.  The proposed application and drawings of the new garage will be sent before the Planning Commission for review.  The homeowner has supplied a surety bond in the amount of $5,000 for the demolition. 

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
