Granville Community Calendar

Legislation Adopted December 19, 2012

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the December 19, 2012 regular meeting:

Resolution No. 2012-52 , A Resolution Authorizing and Directing the Manager of the Village of Granville, Ohio, to Enter into an Agreement with the Bryn Du Commission 

This resolution renews the existing agreement between the Bryn Du Commission and the Village of Granville for the day-to-day management and operations of the Bryn Du facility for one year.  The only change in the agreement is the extension of the contract for an annual renewal period of two years to allow for facility rentals booked up to one year in advance.

Resolution No. 2012-53, A Resolution of Appreciation for Law Director D. Michael Crites   

This resolution recognizes and offer appreciation for the work accomplished by D. Michael Crites during his twelve year tenure as the Village Law Director.  Mr. Crites will be retiring as Law Director beginning December 31, 2012.

Resolution No. 2012-54, A Resolution Authorizing the Village Manager to Enter into a Contract for 2013 with Michael King for Services as Law Director and Mayor’s Court Prosecuting Attorney 

This resolution authorizes the Village Manager to enter into a contract with Michael King as Law Director for legal services for the 2013 calendar year.  Under this contract, the Newark City Law Director’s office would continue to handle the prosecutions in Licking County Municipal Court with the Granville Law Director being responsible for pursuing delinquent collections on tax accounts, working with Village staff and handling Mayor’s Court. 

Resolution No. 2012-55, A Resolution Authorizing the Village Manager to Enter into a Contract for 2013 with Douglas Sassen and the Newark City Law Director’s Office for Services as the Municipal Court Prosecuting Attorney

This resolution authorizes the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Douglas Sassen and the City of Newark Law Director’s office to continue to represent the Village as Prosecuting Attorney for cases in the Licking County Municipal Court.  The proposed rate for 2013 is $15,000 annually (payable monthly), which is the same rate as 2012. 

Resolution No. 2012-56, A Resolution Authorizing the Village Manager to Enter into a Contract with the Licking County Board of Commissioners for Reimbursement of Legal Counsel for Indigent Defendants for the Village of Granville, Licking County, Ohio 

This resolution continues a current contract with the Licking County Board of Commissioners that authorizes the State Public Defenders office to reimburse the Village for legal fees associated with the representation of indigent defendants.  

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
