Legislation Adopted July 17, 2013

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation during the July 17, 2013 regular meeting:

Ordinance No. 10-2013, An Ordinance to Amend Section 1143.04 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Granville, Ohio Pertaining to the Review Procedure

This Ordinance adopts the same language and requirements related to public notices and public hearings by Council for the review of zoning Amendments as currently exists for the review of appeals and Planned Development District applications.  These changes would ensure consistency in the process.

Ordinance No. 11-2013, An Ordinance to Amend Sections 1189.01, 1189.05, 1189.06, 1189.09, 1189.10, and 1189.11 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Granville, Ohio Pertaining to Signs

This Ordinance changes the sign code to move all requests for sign variances to the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals, instead of the Planning Commission.  Additionally, approval of any signage that met all existing criteria would now be approved administratively, instead of going before the Planning Commission for review and approval.  Other changes to the sign code include clarification and clean-up of language.

Ordinance No. 12-2013, An Ordinance to Amend Section 1162 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Granville, Ohio Pertaining to the Review Procedure

This Ordinance changes terminology to indicate that the process would be held at a public meeting, not a public hearing, clarify the language regarding the mailing process and modify the language regarding the Granville Historical Society’s review process as an opinion.

Ordinance No. 13-2013, An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 22-2012 Providing for Adjustments of the Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 2013 and Revising Sums for Operating Expenses

This supplemental appropriation ordinance amends the 2013 annual operating budget to account for additional expenses including:  $3,100 for additional contractual services to update Village technology, $21,650.09 to cover the receipt of funds and costs related to the repair of the historic fence at the Bryn Du Mansion, $51,000 for the pedestrian pathway and stormwater repairs and $35,000 to complete the police and basement renovation project.  Additional budgetary corrections to account for specific transfers are also included.

Resolution No. 2013-45, A Resolution to Appoint a Member to the Bryn Du Commission

This resolution makes an appointment to the Bryn Du Commission to fill the term of resigned member Vincent Engel.  Mr. Engel, whose term expires April 30, 2016, resigned from the Bryn Du Commission effective May 31, 2013.    Keith Myers, former Bryn Du Commission member, is appointed to fill the reminder of the term.

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
