Legislation Adopted June 19, 2013

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation during the June 19, 2013 regular meeting: 

Ordinance No. 09-2013, An Ordinance to Approve a Minor Amendment to the Site Development Plan for Spring Hills Baptist Church for the Granville Christian Academy 

This ordinance approves the installation of a modular classroom, located to the rear of the existing church/Granville Christian Academy, for a four-year period for Spring Hills Baptist Church, located at 1820 Newark-Granville Road.  Council approved the Minor Amendment to the Final Development Plan.  Spring Hills Baptist Church will also be required to provide added landscaping to help obstruct the view of the modular for the surrounding neighbors. 

Resolution No. 2013-40, A Resolution to Permit the Demolition of a One-Story, Detached Garage with a Lean-to at 311 East College Street 

This resolution authorizes the demolition of a one-story, detached, wooden garage and lean-to at 311 East College Street.  This application has been reviewed and approved for demolition by the Planning Commission. The Granville Historical Society has indicated that the garage has no historic significance and does not object to the demolition. 

Resolution No. 2013-41, A Resolution to Permit the Demolition of a One-Story, Detached Garage at 215 South Cherry Street 

This resolution authorizes the demolition of a one-story, detached, wooden garage 215 South Cherry Street.  This application has been reviewed and approved for demolition by the Planning Commission. The Granville Historical Society has indicated that the garage has no historic significance and does not object to the demolition.

Resolution No. 2013-42, A Resolution to Award the Contract for the Clear Run Stand-by Pump and Authorize the Village Manager to Enter into an Agreement for Said Project 

This resolution awards the bid for the stand-by pump for the Clear Run lift station to Dow Construction Inc. On June 11th, bids were received and opened for the Clear Run stand-by pump.  Three bids were received and the bid submitted by Dow Construction Inc. was the low bid at $95,471.  The Village Engineer’s estimate was $130,000.00.  The Village Engineer Turner found the bid acceptable and recommends awarding the bid to Dow Construction Inc.  

Resolution No. 2013-43, A Resolution to Appoint a Member to the Planning Commission 

This resolution makes an appointment to the Granville Planning Commission to fill the term of resigned Chair Tim Ryan.  Tim Ryan, whose term expires January 31, 2016, resigned from the Planning Commission effective May 31, 2013.    Doug Eklof, former ex-oficio member representing the school district, is appointed to fill the reminder of the term. 

Resolution No. 2013-44, A Resolution to Express Appreciation to Tim Ryan for His Service on the Granville Planning Commission 

This resolution recognizes the contributions made by Tim Ryan as member and Chair of the Granville Planning Commission from May 7, 2008 until May 31, 2013. 

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
