Legislation Adopted March 16, 2016

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the March 16, 2016 regular meeting:

Ordinance No. 01-2015, An Ordinance to Authorize the Village Manager to Extend the Lease Agreement with Denison University for Maintaining a Pathway Between Chapin Place and New Burg Street 

This Ordinance renews the agreement between Denison University and the Village for a lease agreement to continue the maintenance and use of the pathway link between Chapin Place and New Burg Street.  This agreement has worked out favorably for both entities and has the support of the Granville schools.

Resolution No. 2016-25, A Resolution to Award the Contract for the 2016 Street Improvement Project to Kokosing Construction, as per Specifications, and Authorize the Village Manager to Enter into an Agreement Therefor

Bids for the 2016 street improvement project were opened on March 8, 2016. The lowest bidder was Kokosing Construction for a base bid of $356,840.00. The Village Engineer concluded that Kokosing Construction has the ability, the resources, and the experience to properly complete the work and has recommended that the contract for the 2016 street improvement project be awarded to Kokosing Construction.  The project will mill and pave East College Street (300 and 400 blocks), Sunrise Street, West Maple Street, Shepardson Court, and South Galway Drive.

Resolution No. 2016-26, A Resolution to Permit the Demolition of a One Story, Single-Family Home with an Attached Garage at 466 North Granger Street

This resolution authorizes the demolition of a one story, single-family home with an attached garage at 466 North Granger Street.  This application was reviewed and approved for demolition by the Village Manager and Council.  The Granville Historical society also reviewed the application and found no historical value to the garage.  The applicant proposed building a new home.

Resolution No. 2016-27, A Resolution to Permit the Demolition of a One  and One-Half Story, Single-Family Home with an Attached Garage at 931 Newark-Granville Road

This resolution authorizes the demolition of a one and one-half  story, single-family home with an attached garage at 931 Newark-Granville Road.  This application was reviewed and approved for demolition by the Village Manager and Council.  The Granville Historical society also reviewed the application and found no historical value to the garage.  The applicant proposed building a new home. 

All legislation is available for review at the Village office during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village office is located at 141 East Broadway.
