Legislation Adopted September 5, 2012

The Granville Village Council adopted the following legislation at the September 5, 2012 regular meeting:

Ordinance No. 19-2012, An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 37-2011 Providing for Adjustments of the Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 2012 and Revising Sums for Operating Expenses

This ordinance is a supplemental appropriation ordinance to amend the 2012 annual operating budget to account for the purchase of a new generator for Village Hall, repairs/upgrades to the asphalt, sidewalk approach and curbs behind the Episcopal Church, Budgetary & Payroll Software for the Finance Department, the purchase of a speed trailer from the Capital Project Reserve Fund for the Police Department, and additional monies in the Waste Water Fund for payroll and benefits due to overtime incurred as a result of the June storm.

Resolution No. 2012-41, A Resolution to Authorize the Village Manager to Advertise for Bids for the Purchase of Water Treatment Chemicals

This resolution authorizes the Village Manager to advertise for bids for the purchase of water treatment chemicals.  Advertising for bids at this time provides the necessary information to include the cost of these chemicals as part of the 2013 operating budget.

Resolution No. 2012-42, A Resolution Accepting the Amounts and Rates as Determined by the Budget Commission and Authorizing the Necessary Tax Levies and Certifying Them to the County Auditor

The annual resolution is required to accept the inside property tax millage (2.5 mills) and estimated revenues that were determined by the Licking County Budget Commission.  (Inside Millage is un-voted millage that is within the 10-mill statutory limitation on un-voted property taxes.)  The millage is unchanged from prior years and will generate approximately $408,900 in revenue for the Village.  This resolution also authorizes the County Auditor to levy that inside millage on behalf of the Village.

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
