The Granville Village Council has scheduled a public hearing to request public comment forJanuary 15, 2014 at 7:30pm in the Granville Village Council Chambers, 141 East Broadway, for the following:
Ordinance No. 25-2013, An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 22-2013 Providing for Adjustments of the Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year 2014 and Revising Sums for Operating Expenses
This supplemental appropriation ordinance, if approved, would amend the 2014 annual operating budget to account for the purchase of the development rights to 15-acres of the Granville Golf Course. The Granville Golf Course represents a valuable historic attribute and part of the Village’s identity. Granville Township is pursuing an agreement to acquire the development rights on a majority of the Granville Golf Course property. This effort is to preserve the rural character of the Village by maintaining the golf course operations. It is anticipated that the primary source of funds for the Township's acquisition will be Open Space monies. These funds cannot be used for the acquisition of non-agricultural improvements. Hence, similar to the purchase of the Bryn Du Mansion property, it is considered desirable for the Village to work with the Township to maintain this recreational attribute by obtaining control of the development rights of approximately 15 acres, which include the clubhouse and surrounding areas.
This legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
