VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE - NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
At its regular meeting on November 3, 2010, the Granville Village Council scheduled a public hearing and request for public comment for November 17, 2010 at 7:30pm in the Granville Village Council Chambers, 141 East Broadway, for the following:
Ordinance No. 18-10, An Ordinance to Amend Section 1159.02 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Granville to Permit Two-Family and Multi-Family Residential Uses as Conditional Uses in the Village Business District
This ordinance would amend the Village Business District zoning regulations consistent with a recommendation from the Planning Commission. Terra Nova Partners, LLC submitted a proposed amendment to the zoning code that would expand the conditional uses allowed within the Village Business District zoning classification to include two-family and multi-family residential uses. Although Terra Nova Partners submitted the request in support of their interest in developing the property at 384 East Broadway, the proposed amendment would apply to all properties within the Village Business District. The Planning Commission recommended to Village Council that the proposed amendment be approved with the following qualifications: two-family and multi-family residential uses would be allowed as Conditional Uses within the Village Business District, but within the core business district two-family and multi-family residential uses would be allowed only on the upper floors of structures and only when the first floor of the same structure is designated for a commercial use. The core business district was defined as East Broadway, on the north and south sides of the street from Main Street to Pearl Street, North and South Prospect Streets on the west and east sides of the street from College Street to Elm Street, and South Main Street from Broadway to Elm Street.
Ordinance No. 21-10, An Ordinance to Amend Section 333.03(b)(3) of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Granville to Establish a 35mph Speed Limit on Lancaster Road and River Road
This ordinance would amend Section 333.03(b)(3) of the Village Code to reduce the speed limit on the portion of Lancaster Road and River Road that was included in the recent annexation to the Village. The speed zone would be reduced from 45mph and 55mph respectively to 35mph, bringing the speed limit into compliance.
All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.
