Public Hearings - Village Council - Wednesday, August 4

VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE - NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

At its regular meeting on July 21, 2010, the Granville Village Council scheduled a public hearing and request for public comment for August 4, 2010 at 7:30pm in the Granville Village Council Chambers, 141 East Broadway, for the following:

Ordinance No. 11-10, An Ordinance to Adopt Permanent Zoning (Village Gateway District) for the Mill District Properties on Lancaster Road (South Main Street)

This ordinance would establish permanent zoning for the Mill District properties owned by Mill District, LLD and 1919 Lancaster Road, LLC and located on Lancaster Road (South Main Street).  The property owners have requested that the properties be zoned as Village Gateway District.  The Granville Planning Commission, after conducting public hearings on the request, determined that the properties are suitable for the Village Gateway District zoning designation and have recommended that zoning be applied.

Ordinance No. 12-10, An Ordinance to Amend Section 1173.02 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Granville to Allow Restaurants as a Permitted Use Within the Village Gateway Zoning District

This ordinance would amend the Village Gateway District zoning regulations to allow restaurants as a permitted use rather than a conditional use.  Village Council agreed to the amendment as part of the pre-annexation agreement with the owners of the Mill District properties in 2009.  It should be noted that this proposed amendment does not affect the prohibition against drive-up, drive-through, or drive-in facilities for fast food enterprises or enterprises involving the sale of beverages.  It should also be noted that this ordinance is a companion ordinance to Ordinance No. 11-2010, which would place the Mill District properties in the Village Gateway District.  Should that ordinance be defeated or overturned, this amendment would not be effective.

All legislation is available for review at the Village Offices during regular business hours, which are normally 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Village Offices are located at 141 East Broadway.

Mollie Prasher, Clerk of Council
