A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE COUNTYWIDE ALL NATURAL HAZARDS
MITIGATION PLAN (CANHMP) FOR LICKING COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the mission for the Countywide All
Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan for Licking County, Ohio
(CANHMP), is to develop a working document by researching
and planning for future natural hazards, and implementing
appropriate mitigation techniques that all of Licking
County can utilize to save lives and protect property,
reduce the cost of disasters, and provide for a rapid and
efficient recovery by coordinating response efforts, as
well as increase the educational awareness of natural
hazard events and their effects on the people, property,
and resources of all of Licking County; and
WHEREAS, the CANHMP for Licking County fulfills
the mandates of the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of
2000, and satisfies the requirement of Federal Management
Agency (FEMA) and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, as
well as meets the needs of all of Licking County;
and
WHEREAS, FEMA has conditionally approved the
CANHMP, with concurrence from Ohio EMA. This approval is
contingent upon approval/adoption by participating
jurisdictions and effective upon approval/adoption.
WHEREAS, the CANHMP will apply to all areas of
Licking County under the jurisdiction of the Licking
County Commissioners.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
GRANVILLE, OHIO, that:
Section I: The Village of Granville hereby adopts the
Countywide All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan for Licking
County.
Section II: This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage.
