RESOLUTION NO. 07-03
A RESOLUTION ENACTING WAGE RATES FOR THE FULLTIME POSITIONS OF POLICE OFFICER AND POLICE SERGEANT FOR THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1, 2007 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2009
WHEREAS, the Village has successfully completed negotiations with the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc., representing the fulltime employees in the ranks of Police Officer and Police Sergeant; and
WHEREAS, the agreement will be effective for the period from January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the agreement establishes new wage rates for the fulltime positions of Police Officer and Police Sergeant; and
WHEREAS, the agreement is subject to the Appeal of the Certification determination by the State Employee Relations Board (SERB) of cases 04-REP-08-0140 AND 04-REP-08-141; and
WHEREAS, in the event the decision of SERB is reversed and the Certification determination is deemed invalid, unlawful, contrary to law, or is otherwise set aside, the agreement will be deemed null and void.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Granville, Ohio that:
Section I: Wages. The wage rates for the fulltime positions of Police Officer and Police Sergeant shall be as provided in the approved agreement and as shown on Exhibits A (Police Officer Wages) and B (Police Sergeant Wages), which are attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section II: Shift Differential. Police Officers or Police Sergeants assigned to a shift where the majority of hours of the shift, five (5) or more, are between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. shall receive a shift differential of $.25 per hour. Employees assigned to a shift where the majority of hours of the shift, five (5) or more, are between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. shall receive a shift differential of $.50 per hour. Shift differential shall be added to the employee's base rate of pay for hours actually worked.
Section III: This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage, the earliest period allowed by law.
