Granville Community Calendar

WHEREAS, the federal government is developing an economic recovery plan to stimulate the national economy; and

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the economic recovery plan will include funding for local public works projects to create jobs and stimulate local economic activity; and

WHEREAS, the emphasis of the economic recovery plan will be on public projects that can be awarded and initiated quickly; and

WHEREAS, the projects that are submitted for potential funding may be eligible for low interest loans, grants, negative interest loans, or principal forgiveness; and

WHEREAS, the submission of an application does not guarantee that federal funds will be available, or that a particular project will be selected for funding should those funds become available; and

WHEREAS, the submission of an application does not obligate the Village to accept the stimulus funding; and

WHEREAS, the Village Staff and the Village's consulting engineers have identified potential projects that could qualify for stimulus funding.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Granville, Ohio that:

Section 1. The Village Manager is hereby authorized to submit information and/or applications for federal economic stimulus funds for projects that may include but not necessarily be limited to the following:

o New ultraviolet disinfection system for the wastewater treatment plant

o Air line replacement at the wastewater treatment plant

o Waterline extension along Main Street to Old River Road (from Ross's Market to Service Department Building)

o Waterline extension along Main Street from Old River Road to River Road

o Sanitary Sewer extension to serve the River Road Area (Phase I)

o Rehabilitation of South Main Street pump station

o Burg Street pathway

o New Burg Street pathway from high school to intermediate school

o Pathway extension from TJ Evans Trail to Raccoon Valley Park 
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
