RESOLUTION NO. 2013-27
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT WITH OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS AND ENTITIES AUTHORIZED TO EMPLOY CERTIFIED OHIO PEACE OFFICERS IN LICKING COUNTY, OHIO, TO PROVIDE FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE BY THE INTERCHANGE AND USE OF POLICE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, a mutual aid agreement has existed in Licking County for many years to the benefit of the citizens of Granville; and,
WHEREAS, said agreement has been reviewed and prepared by county authorities for renewal;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF GRANVILLE, OHIO, that:
Section I: The Village Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the municipalities and entities of Alexandria, Buckeye Lake, Heath, Hebron, Johnstown, Kirkersville, Licking County Sheriff’s Department, Licking County Park District, Licking Memorial Health Systems, Newark, Ohio State Highway Patrol-Post 45, Ohio State University, Pataskala, Reynoldsburg, St. Louisville, Union Township and Utica for the purpose of obtaining additional police protection pursuant to Ohio Revised Code sections 737.04 and 505.431.
Section II: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
