Granville Tree and Landscape Commission
Friday work session
September 16, 2016
Attending: Don Hostetter, Dick Mortensen, Don Pheneger, Lynne Kishler, Jim Siegel, Linda Reynolds
After studying the landscape plans for the new phase of Middleton Senior Living, we felt that it was a good plan. The forty-foot spacing of proposed trees is appropriate. Our only concerns are about the attractiveness of certain plantings to deer. Those include the dense yews and day lilies. Possible invasive tendency concerns include the English ivy, the burning bushes, and the red bud trees. It was felt that if there is adequate attention to groundskeeping, those problems should be able to be controlled. The trees should have deer guards.
Don H. will prepare a memo explaining the commission’s general acceptance of the proposed plan and our concerns.
