Water Plant Operator - Class I or II

The Village of Granville is searching for a full-time Water Operator to join our team. This position requires labor and technical ability to assist with the daily operation of the water production and distribution facility, but will also assist with the waste water collection and treatment system as needed.
Successful candidates should possess a valid Class I or Class II Water Operator’s Certificate as issued by the State of Ohio or be willing to obtain their Class I license within 18 months of employment.
Starting salary for Class I licensed operator is $24.19 per hour. Class II operators are encouraged to apply. Starting salary for a Class II licensed operator is $26.96 per hour. Excellent fringe benefit package.

Equipment Operator

The Village of Granville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Equipment Operator within the Service Department. Under the direction of the Service Supervisor, the successful candidate will perform a wide range of entry to intermediate level maintenance repair tasks utilizing specialized hand tools and various types of light and heavy motorized equipment and vehicles. Duties require working outdoors in all weather conditions, performing light to heavy manual labor and maintenance work. The successful candidate will be subject to call-in during emergencies.
Specific duties include performing semi-skilled maintenance work on Village streets and sidewalks, storm sewer systems, operating heavy motorized equipment & vehicles; operating specialized hand tools; performing Village wide snow plowing and salt spreading; and assisting with Village special events.
Requirements/Qualifications include possession of a High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent certificate and some experience in construction and maintenance work, equipment maintenance/upkeep; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License required.
